Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. Announces Financial Results for the Fiscal Quarter Ended November 30, 2007
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)—January 10, 2008--Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. (DYII) today reported financial results for its first fiscal quarter. For the fiscal quarter ended November 30, 2007, the Company had income from continuing operations of $0.13 per share compared to a loss from continuing operations of $0.04 per share in the fiscal quarter ended November 30, 2006. All per share amounts are calculated on a fully diluted basis.
Net patient service revenues for the quarter increased by $3.9 million, or 39%, from $9.9 million in 2006 to $13.8 million in 2007. The Company’s Garland and Pasadena Facilities had a significant increase in bariatric cases due to recruitment of additional physicians. Income from continuing operations was $2.2 million for the first quarter in 2007 compared to a loss from continuing operations of $0.7 million in the first quarter in 2006. Net income was $2.4 million in the first fiscal quarter in 2007, or $0.14 per share, versus net loss of $1.0 million, or $0.06 per share, in the first fiscal quarter of 2006.
